I am looking to buy a Maverick. I am guessing that it is about a 1975. It has the larger bumpers. I want to know if the smaller bumpers will fit on this car? What else did they change?

Also, the car is a Grabber with a 302 and a 3spd manual. Does anyone know anything about this car? The guy told me that there were only 800 made. Is he correct.

    Thanks
    Eric

    Howdy and :Welcome:

You can convert to small bumpers. I converted my 77 over 6 years ago and wrote an article on the swap. Here is a link to it.

I dont know what the actual numbers are but I have heard the 75 Grabber was the rarest Maverick made going by production numbers. Add the 302 with the 3 speed and it probably makes it even more rare. Unfortunately as far as adding any value, it dosent mean much in the Maverick world. But hey, we love it!!!

yep your maverick is just like my imppy..

I have a 71 Impala with a 250 yes a 250 and a 3 speed on the tree... They only made 400 of them from 71-73... so yeah it is a rare car, you should grab it up!

Lots of people have converted to small bumpers ... it's not a bolt-on project but not very hard ....

They made more the 800 1975 Grabbers ... actually the made 8,473 of them. It's possible only 800 were made with a 302/3-spd ... but nobody has those statistics as far as I know ..
