I will have to buy new rear drums for my 72 Grabber. I have the 8" rear 4 lug and the early 9" setup. Were there wider drums for this year or was there only one type? What about the axle length? If I go with 10" brakes, can you do a switch out using the 10" backing plates and drums? How wide are the 10" brakes?

The tens are wider than the nine inch drums.I was thinking of doing that myself on mine but I dont believe it will work without longer axles to compensate for the extra width of the ten inch drums.

As long as you get the backing plates and everything, I think it all should go right on. I used to run a set of 11" drums from a Torino on mine. Had to get everything (back plates, drums, everything) but it worked GREAT. But heavy.
