    :hmmm: Have an '89 351w and want to stuff it in my 69.5. Towers are notched and all the other stuff. Only thing is, which transmission will will bolt up to the 351w ? I have a large bell c-4 but I'm not sure if it will fit in the tunnel. I have a small bell c-4 that needs a flywheel but I'm not sure which flywheel to buy. Will a 70's small flywheel work ? Or do I need a newer 5.0 style ? Do I need to change harmonic balancer ? :confused: :confused: :confused:
    Thanks, Darrel

    you might try http://www.mustangcentral.net/tech/c4.html :) i don't know about the 69.5 but a c-4 should fit in all the others with either a small or big bellhousing. you'll need to match the flexplate for the size and you'll also need the same size motorplate. the smaller bellhousing will give you a little more clearance for headers. on an 89 i believe you'll need the 50 oz. check out that website first, before you believe anything i tell you.:)

    Pretty sure the 351W kept the 28.2 ballance even through the later years.

    351w = 28.2 never changed it like the 5.0
