I know I am no computer graphic artist...but I was trying to get an idea of how to paint my comet.

I was thinking black stripe front to back, but I see many with solid top. I am kinda leaning toward solid top, black on middle hood.

I like the black on the bottom.

I know ulitmately the decision is mine based on what I think looks good, but I am curious about opinions.

    So, which one looks best?

The first one looks more 60's, and the second is more like 70's. I like the one on the bottom, reminds me the Carcraft Chevelle.

My vote goes to the top one, in my opinion it looks "sporter", which tends to fit the 2-door Maverick. You may even look at the option of painting the roof the way they did the half vinyl roof in '76 & 77, which gave it a up-sweep kind of look. Take a look at the photo from the brochure (which is not a great shot, I have seen much better ones).

just somethin about that baby blue I hate....lol. I know some of you folks love restoring originality...but I'll save that for another project. I don't mind totally changin this one.

I screwed up my hood yesterday...didn't follow directions or common sense...now I gotta paint it all over again. Part of the learning process I guess.

I am still torn over which one...I really like them both. Hell, as much as I anticipate screwing it up along the way...I may end up with both styles....then pick.
