Guys please give me your input. I have a 73 Grabber w/stock 302 2V. I want to put an aluminum intake & Holley 4 on it. I did this 30 years ago but don't remember which Edlbrock I used. I want it to fit under stock hood. I know I will have to use a thinner breather probably. I am looking at Summitt's web site. They have several different models. Which ones have you guys used? Also what size Holley do you recommend? I will leave the engine otherwise stock for now except I may put 351W heads on. Thanks in advance.
    Mike:)

When mine was stock I really liked the Edlebrock performer manifold with a 600 holley. Hard to beat this simple combo

F4B or one of it's clones...
570 Holley (like it over the 1850 because of it's center hung floats)
The Performer is just way too mild IMO, even for upgrading a stocker...

Too mild for a stocker? He is going from a 2 barrel to a four. The performer was incredibly easy to drive and boosted the power a lot. Even after I added hedders I stil ran with it for a while. JMHO

Performer, especially with a stock cam or the matching Performer + cam. Definitely no larger than a 600 cfm carb. I used it on my 302 w/351W heads. I'm still using my old Performer intake and cam and 600 cfm Holley on my 347 w/gt40P heads, headers, etc. It's not a race car but works very well on the street.

I have the performer, and have regretted it ever since. The rpms are limited, and it only has power up to 4500 rpms. Why not just recommend the Performer RPM or Air Gap, and get it over with? He will end up there in a few years anyway, and he will save the hassle of having to e-Bay his 289 Performer later on.

Even better, I will sell you my Performer 289 at under cost plus shipping, so I can replace mine with an RPM Air Gap.

(Please read this reply with a hint of humor, but also with a good bit of seriousness...I WILL sell the 289 Performer...)

If we all built for the future nothing would ever get done. I would buy a rail car and a blown 800ci mountian motor;) For his current set up and providing he is not looking at adding any more except a mild cam, no reason to step up to the rpm or air gap. :2cents:
