I am looking to buy a maverick. The Dealership is asking 3000:coco: :rofl2: It is in fair condition at best. It is a 1974 Grabber I think. It has a 302 with either 109,000 or 209,000. Either way I'm sure it has rolled over once at least. It also has a 3 spd manual. The Guy says that only 800 were made with this combo in this year. Is he correct or just trying to make it sound better. What is it really worth??? There is some pretty good rust on the rear Quarter and the paint is in pretty poor condition. Also, the interior isn't the greatest either. A few little parts are missing also, such as the pass. mirror guts and some other little things. Is it unreasonable to plead my case and offer him about $500? What is it really worth???

Also, does anyone know where I can get the sales records to see how many were actually made?

Only place I know of that has records is Marti Autoworks but he only has them to 73. I think the guy is blowing wind up your skirt. Tell him to prove it. Otherwise is all bunk.

I would say a car in the condition you describe is not worth $3000. I doubt you will be able to talk them down to $500.

It is hard to say without seeing it....but if it has as much rust as you say it does......I would say your offer is just about right. Just don't know if it will be accepted or not. :D
