I gather 15x8 wheels are a safe bet. Summit has some nice Cragars at a good price. Last thing I want to do is order wheels that have the wrong back spacing and off set. Does anyone have exact specs for 15x8's that will work without creating issues?. I have 5 wheel studs. 1972 Mav 302 C4. Thanks

15x 8's with a 4" backspace will fit, as will 15 x 10's with a 5" backspace, I've had both on the rear of my 77 Comet today. The 10's are shod with 265/50/15's, I could have went with 275/50's and they'd still fit in the fenderwells. Wheels are Wheel Vintique's Series 35 steel slots, which match the Dodge police car wheels that I had on the rear before ( these are the 15 x 8's with 4" B.S.) The 9" rear I have under it now is actually 1" wider than the 8" it replaced.

Dumb question what is the "offset" measurement for? What offset works? BUt I guess in school my teacher's said no question is dumb.

Offset is the distance from the center of the rim the rear face is. An 8" wheel with 1" of negative offset has a 3" backspace. an 8" wheel with 1" of positive offset has a 5" backspace. Most new cars today have positive offset wheels. Nearly all the old cars and trucks had centered wheels or negative offset wheels. The only ones that come to mind in the old cars with positive offset wheels were the front wheel drive Cadillac Eldorado and the Olds Toronado
