On the Original purchase agreement it states the car has a Select_Shift Cruise_O_Matic which is behind a 200CI. I have the chance to pick up a 65 mustang 289 that I was wondering if it would bolt up to the trans.
The 200 has a different bellhousing to engine bolt pattern. The bellhousing can be swapped to a v8 style. Also be careful on the 65 289, that was a transition year and it could have a 5 bolt bellhousing to engine pattern. You really want the 6 bolt pattern.
Appreciate the info, I actually just got off the phone with the guy that has the engine and he said he has the tranny to go with it if I wanted but I'm not totally sold on getting the engine. Not sure if you can get any more pep out of a 200 but would like to get a little more power into the car.
