    I saw this on E bay, he is selling the 250 and put in a 350
    Chevrick? Maverolet?

    Why people do things like this........

    I'll never know. Chevy engines in Fords, Fords in Chevys.....
    I see no point in switching things out like that. Way too much trouble, and EVERY car manufacturer has made at least a coupla good engines, so why not keep it all Ford or all Chevy. I just don't get it. :confused: Country

    I dont get it either Country. Many of my local buds are now into street rods. Now there is rampant use of the boring ole 350 chevy stuffed into just about anything,,,,BORING!! A good buddy of mine just built a really neat T-bucket, has the best stance of any t-bucket I have ever seen. He stuck a 454 chevy in it. He asked me what I thought. I told him ' if you really wanted it to be different and cool, then why didnt you put a big block Ford in it? He didnt like it, but in my opinion if you are going to stay with the Ford theme I.E. T-bucket as in Model T, then why not stay with a Ford drive train. He is all Chevy though. Guess that whats makes it all interesting and different!

    They put the motor in backwards. Everyone knows the distributor goes in front. :rolleyes:

    The reason most of them do it is cause you can build more power in a c motor for much cheaper than any other one. I personally dont get it either. These guys will spend over $30K on a street rod and go chevy to save a couple of thousand. There's a guy here that has a georgous 36 Plymoth coupe and of course, a c motor. That car is screeming for an early hemi or wedge motor. I keep saying if I ever hit the lottery, I'm gonna buy me a split window corvette and put a Ford motor, toploader, and 9" in it.

    ...I know that it has always been the case that GM stuff is cheaper, but that seems to be changing over the past
    few years. I think that due to the 5.0 craze the availability
    of Ford aftermarket parts has made speed cheaper for
    blue oval fans.

    When it comes to small block swaps, I can't see a reason to use a Chevrolet in any of them.
    Now there's nothing wrong with a small Chev, it's just that they are wider, taller, longer, and heavier.

    When it comes to big blocks, I can see using a Chev, but if it's a full custom application, why not go for something really different or wild like an aluminum headed Buick 455 (weighs about the same as an iron headed small chev) or a Chrysler 383? or for that matter if you have tons of space like in a t-bucket with an open engine compartment, a four-cam Cobra motor?

    okay, I'll shut up now.

    My buddy has a chassied Vega........It has a 532 c.i. big block Ford on alky and nitrous:D That is the only Vega you will ever hear me say "man I love that Vega" :D
