What is this? What does it do? Can this be changed out for an aftermarket piece? I was thinking that is a computer brain or ignition box of some sort.
The file is to large, I will have to get it smaller.

There will be two connectors on it .... one to your distributor and one to the wiring harness and coil. I recommend that you don't remove it ... :)

So does the MSD 6AL box replace this box? I don't see any other pics with this box under there hood.

Yes the MSD 6AL will replace that box, and that is what I did. There is a way to wire it up so that you use both boxes, but I don't really understand the point of doing that. I mean, if you can do it, there has to be a point. Perhaps someone more educated can explain.

I 'believe' it's so you can by-pass the MSD to troubleshoot electrical probs (by taking the MSD offline to see if it is the culprit).

At least that's why the drag racers in my cricle have both systems.... maybe. :hmmm:

i have both connected on my yellow maverick... if MSD goes bad i can still run without it by, by passing it. trust me it will go out some day ;)
