What did I find in the transmission pan?

    I found this in the transmission pan of my son's 73 Maverick today. It's the first time we've dropped the pan since we bought the car. I don't know what it is. Anybody? Thanks.

    It's the plug for the dipstick tube. I guess when they istall the transmission at the factory they just push thim into the pan. Goes to show yours has never been serviced!

    No problem. To be honest I just learned about them not too long ago. There have been a couple posts either here or on one of the Facebook pages about them.

    Had one of those in my pan when I had the o-rings in my 73 replaced recently. Mechanic said the same thing as Rick.
