This is like puttin a kid in a candy store. Went back to get a couple more 130 amp alt. to try the conversion. first one I got had a bad spot on the place where the brushes ride. well whild walking around I spotted a T-bird...an older one. I went over to check it out..1966 2 door in fairly good shape. raised the hood and WOW there was a big block in it. I crawled up on the bumber to check it out and I noticed it had a 4100 carb so I got that...chuck wanted it. then I saw the firing order 15426378....hum I said same as the 302 it wasn't till I got home and talked about it with chuck and looked it up in the books that I came to think this was a 428 BB...damn looking around the block by its self is bring over 2k. that was saturday so by now it will be gone. Robert
Yeah, no telling what you find at Pull-a-Part. One time I saw a guy who found a set of 4 nice looking old style American Mags in the trunk with no tires mounted on them for $9 each. Another time a guy found a complete 428 CJ in a pickup truck for $132. Your find is a good excuse to stay out of work for a day and go back and see how your lucky you are.
Robert, I checked and found that most all ford engines have the same firing order, I believe the only ones that are different are the 351 and the 5.0H.O. Sorry for the missinformation. With that being said it was probably a 390, I dont think the 352 came with a 4v carb. Alot of this information was also provided by Tim.
that says alot.... but yeah, all ford V8 engines have the 1-5-4-etc. firing order except for anything 351 (ie. 351w, 351c, 351m-400) or the 5.0 HO
Yep, guess it would require looking at the block casting numbers. http://www.boxwrench.net/specs_index.htm Robert
