After driving my new to me 1972 Maverick Graber for 2 weeks when I wash the Maverick I had some water under the dash on the pass. side carpet. The guy I got the Mav. from gave me a new front windshield boot with the deal. I had a shop intall the boot, gasket and it still has the same leak any ideas? :slap:
    Thanks

How do you know it's not coming through the Cowl ... did you check for rust holes?

Probably the cowl or the support for the windsheild. Mine was both, with the windsheild support being the one that leaked into the car. My cowl was rusted, water still flowed past the rust. The windsheild support was full of pinholes all the way across, and ruined a Pioneer CD player, as well is my ignition relay for the seatbelts.

Fix it before you need floorpans and electronics replaced as well.

Take a cup of water and pour it into the cowl vent area just below the windshield and see if any water comes in onto the floor. If it doesn't, then take a water house and turn it on for a few seconds and pour it into the same vent as a cup of water may not show up if the rust holes are not bad enough. Be careful not to let water get on the windshield so you cab be sure to elinate that as the problem. The bottom of the cowls are very prone to rusting out on these cars and that's what we are betting you will find here. Hope not...but most likely. You can find several threads on this subject if you do a search above, Try typing in "cowl leak" and read on.

    Good luck.
