I was looking around online and i found a few sources of v8 engines built to run on water. I was intrigued by this and looked further into it i found old us patents for it that are no longer in the current database(creepy conspiracy eh). I was wondering how possible you guys think this is and if it would be worth it or if it could even be done with a mav 302.. pm me with your email if you need to see the blueprints or anything. I really need this as i am a 16 year old kid that cant afford $3 a gallon haha.

I don't know how feesable it is... but water is hydrogen (fuel) and oxygen (catalyst).
Water is flammable in very extreme heat.
Probably too extreme to package into an engine though.
Interesting thinking about stuff like this, I wish I was edjoocated enough to make sense of it.

    Loki-
If you, as a sixteen year old kid figure out how to make that work, you'll never have to work again!

Just separate the H from the O and you can have a hydrogen-powered engine. Simple

Separating the 2 is a problem though. Requires a LOT of energy to get it done.

Isn't it amazing how 2 of the most volatile and powerful elements can get together and become one of the most stable compounds known to man?

That is the principle behind a Fuel Cell equipped car. Water is seperated ... the H is burned and the O goes out the tailpape ...

I found blueprints and such that show how to build the proper circuitry and a chamber that uses an electrode to seperate the hydrogen and the oxygen into vapor and send it into the cylinder. only changes other than electrical is ceramic coating pistons and cylinders, stainless steel fuel lines and exhaust, and a plastic water tank.

The problem is that it takes more energy to separate the H and O, especially through electrodes, than the combination of the two create. But, if you took an acid and dropped a chunk of magnesium in it, I think you would get a pretty good bit of Hydrogen. Oxygen is easy to find. So now we have a car that runs on magnesium...? Still cheaper to buy $3 a gallon gas.

Back in the 80s one of the Jap car companies had a protype running around that ran on electrolysis of water. Besides the water they had a spool of aluminum wire to act as the electrode The aluminum was consumed also so you had to fill the tank with water and put in a new spool of aluminum. The only emission coming out of the tailpipe was water vapor.

yeah, i went back over the plans and the more accepted plan splits it through electrolysis, but it doesnt use a spool of aluminum wire, instead it has stainless steel tubes as the electrodes.

Is there anyone on here that is skilled with making electrical circuitry and whatnot if i give you the blueprints?

funny how all of a sudden everyone stopped talking.... i noticed one thing in this forum...people say oh yeah do this and this...and then when it comes to details, people tend to drop off a bit...

    the reason i say this?
i have been waiting on 3 pm's for the past month or so about how to get my alternator running and a few other things and havent recieved much feedback..

    just my observation

Loki... good luck on getting this project started....if i knew anyhting about electronics i would help you out....you never know....you could be the next person to invent another alternative fule that will solve the worlds energy problems.. and after all... therre is a lot of water on earth....80% of the planet is covered in it

well i finally found someone around here to build the electronics my current problem is i cant seem to find someone to ceramic coat the pistons and cylinders and i need to find stainless steel valves. so far im making progress though.
