On my voltage regulator harness that goes to the alternator is a condensor that plugs into the harness at the regulator. The wire broke off and I have not found if I really need it. The car now is apart for rebuilding or I could just start it and see what it does. Is it there for a radio noise supressor or do I need it. I also have one on the back of the alternator.

Its an RF supressor for the radio... you'll be fine without it for now.
