I'm sure others have had to change their valve stem seals one time or another but I'm having trouble finding a valve spring compressor tool that isn't over 100$. Any help?
Here ya go, This is from Harbor Freight, but you can get these from any auto parts store. http://www.harborfreight.com/universal-overhead-valve-spring-compressor-60335.html
Here is what I used. Cheap, simple. I also used a compression tester fitting in my spark plug holes, hooked up to my air compressor to keep the valves pushed up against the block while I pried down with this tool, otherwise the valve may fall down into the cylinder. Other guys have shoved rope into their cylinders to keep the valves up.
This is the one I have: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lisle-V...=Motors_Automotive_Tools&vxp=mtr#ht_245wt_876
I bought the one MaverickDan suggested, worked as designed but I found it a little finicky. I replaced my valve seals and used the rope method at TDC on my 200. I’ll likely go with a different tool next time, that said, you can’t really go wrong for $10 bucks either.
That is what i use as well. Local.parts stores sell them for 10 bucks. Works great. Way better then the clamp style.
What are you finding that costs a hundred bucks?!?!? My Jessel/T&D shaft rocker tool didn't even cost that. SPark
