Guys i just wanted to apologize for my leave of absence. I got into a VERY serious relationship with someone i though was for sure the one but ended up being just a year long fun ride down the road of life. But I got rid of her and got my priorities straight and wanted to let you guys know how im coming with my 72 mav. I pulled the motor and rebuilt it. 10:1 flattops 269 cam 4bbl edelbrock intake and 650 edel carb and added a performance mallory electronic ignition (complimented with high speed yellow plug wires ). dropped a three speed floor shift is her. i HAD the grabber spoiler ready to bolt on but do to an accident with the car falling off the jackstands it broke the spoiler in half i've gotta fiberglass it back together. i was prepping the hood and fenders for primer when i ran across a 75 maverick with PERFECT body no title for around 200 bucks...has a great interior compared to mine...couldnt pass it up...got a body to finish my 72 and a better drivetrain than whats in my brothers 75 so it was win win. I'm just gonna flat black her for now so she has that rough intemidating look. and a few years ago i totalled my mothers 95 explorer so i got out today and yanked the limited slip 3:73 rear from under it and gonna work on putting it in tomorow. It doesnt seem to be a big deal. I gotta relocated the spring perches and rerun the parking brake cables and make sure the ofcenter chunk doesnt cause the driveshaft to run too close to the floorpan. I've also gotta make a custom driveshaft but thats no biggie either. OH OH i almost forgot...the donor car gave me fronts disc brakes as well
Sorry to hear that and it's cool that you have something to focus on and keep you sane, like you said you had a year long blast.
thanks guys. its still gonna be a little while before actually get my mav primered and where i want it but when i do im talkin to facelessnumber and we're wanting to when it warms up maybe set up a middle tennessee maverick meet somewhere...just a thought
