I'm installing a universal under hood A/C kit on a 71 Comet that had factory air. All of the under hood stuff was gone when I started working on the car.
I would like to see some under hood pictures of where all the AC lines run. Are there any available? If not, can you email me some pictures?
Send to dstolarc @ yahoo . com
    Thanks

    Me too.

I just completed my order today for the underhood kit from Classic Air for my '72 Mav. Ron mentioned that he had just done an order for a '71 Comet. Assume that's you.

I took a lot of pictures of my car as I took it apart but none of the AC system. Wish I had. Would appreciate some pictures of your installation when its done.

    The 71 Comet has a 302

The 71 Comet I'm working on has a 302 with PS, PB and a C4 if it matters.
There is at least 2 people adding air to a 71 Comet. When I ordered the kit, he (whoever I talked to) said there was a local guy doing the same thing. I'm in Michigan...
I have the kit, but it doesn't come with any kind of instructions. It is meant for someone that knows what they are doing... I can figure it out OK , just need many pictures to help out.

    Cheers

...A bunch more in My AC Conversion Thread.

The top hose on the compressor, that's the return hose, goes straight to the firewall. The lower hose on the compressor is a short piece that goes to a reciever/dryer with a sight glass. From there, another short hose goes through the radiator support to the bottom of the condenser. The top of the condenser is connected to that "large" hose which goes back to the firewall. (actually it's quite small - I insulated it.)

    Thanks...

    Thanks...
I read through the 16 page thread. Nice write up. Thank you.
Do you have any pictures showing where the receiver/dryer is and how the hoses go to/from it?
I have a universal under hood kit and it has long hoses with loose fittings. Everything needs to be cut and crimped. I only want to have things crimped, one time...
    Thanks !

Factory has the receiver/dryer outside of the radiator support, next to the condenser. I put mine next to the washer fluid tank. I couldn't find any pics of it, but I'll see what I can do...

my lines run to the rear of the engine. they were measured and made to fit. any A/C shop can make them for you.

these are the mounting brackets i made...

the ones that came with the kit had it sitting too high (for me).

    ......

Here is how I ran my lines. Stock lines are little different but the compressor lines are in different spots so it ran best like this.

Thanks for the pictures ! Please post more...

Thanks for all the pictures. I like pictures :)>
    Please post some more.
I'm especially interested in the receiver/dryer location and lines to/from it.
The condensor has a big fitting and a smaller fitting. Which one goes on top. They both point out of the same side, I don't want to mount it upside down.
    Thanks again.

Also. Right now the engine is out of the car. I'm just trying to get a feel for what will go where when I install engine and A/C lines. I have a Sanden compressor like in the pictures. Can someone give me a quick in car measurement of the compressor location? Just measure from compressor line to rad support and from compressor line to fender apron. I want to mock this up before hand.
    Cheers.
