Under coating

    My 74 Maverick came from up north originally. It has the black undercoating all in the engine compartment. The best thing I've tried so far to remove it is Goof-Off. You have to pour it on the black stuff and then use a putty knife or rag to wipe off. Anybody got any better idea to remove this gunk? I'm in South Carolina now so we have very little salty roads during the winter.

    MEK should do it, use gloves and have plenty of air flow and NO SMOKING.
