wo just out of curiosity i called my local exhaust shop and asked how much duals would be. they said it would be about 355 dollars BUT they dont install the headers(6901's). and i also asked if their tubes were manderel bent. they said no but it is still pretty free flowing. also they said that it would be a 2.5 inch pipe. i wanted super44s and they said that would be fine. is this a good deal?

also my car is power steering and colomn shift.
if i get the power steering braket would it work or not.
    thanks.pat

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
you don't need the manderel bend... though it is nice and can make a differance on high HP cars... but your not going to notice anything..

i'd shop around for price... but that sounds about right for mufflers too if those are included.

you will need the power steering "drop bracket" to clear the slave cyl. and will have to relocate your shifter to the floor. though i think someone here did one install i kept their stock shifter... but if you ask me i think it is just eaiser to put it on the floor. ;)

    gud luck!

In my opinion the B&M Star, is the easiest, and also looks at home in our cars. On a scale of 1-10 it being a 4 to install.

That's about the same price at my shop with mufflers, pipe, and labor. Tax extra.
Of Course, being the store manager and the exhaust guy and loving Mavs/Comets, I'd probably cut you a little better deal.

Relocating is pretty straight forward. Anyone with a little mechanical skill can do it and make it look good.

I have used B&M cable shifters in Mavericks with bench seats.
The beauty of a cable shifter is that you can mount it anyway/anywhere/any direction that the cable reaches. And if the cable doesn't reach, you can buy a longer one! ;)

    My fav is the Z-Gate.
Very inexpensive, very tough, and easy to operate.
Some of the other shifters I have had with more fancy options seemed cheaply done and the added bells and whistles were not durable.
The only thing I didn't like about the Z-Gate was the black plastic handle.
That is easy enough to change though. It screws off and whatever one you like screws in it's place.

Also, non-mandrel pipe flows quite a bit less than mandrel, but MaverickMan is right about you not feeling it unless you are making stout power.

    2.5" mandrel pipe outflows 3" non-mandrel!
