My 73 appears to be original paint. White and red. I was told by the guy I bought the car from it was lacquer. Is that what the factory used in 73? Can you get it in a aerosol can for touch or small amounts to use in a detail gun? If not any touch paint that might ad-hear to it?

If it's orginal it is not lacquer. It should be acrylic enamel.

More than likely enamel. I doubt you will find any off the shelf touch up paint that will match since the original has faded a certain amount through the years. Best bet would be go to a body shop and let them match you up a pint or quart. Eastwood sells a refillable pressure sprayer that you charge with compressed air that you could use on larger areas or just get a good artist brush for rock chips.
