That is what I am gonna build. I am gonna look for a cheap roller chassis and build a twin turbo 351w. If you wanna see this thing built give me a HELL YEA!!! Got the Ok from the wife to start building the motor(I have a 351w just laying around) I will will have the C4 outta my current mav just needs the hardend input shaft and a new torque converter. I love it when a plan comes together. Will start looking for a chassis to acquire aprilish next year. I'm tired of the rest of you guys running faster:evilsmile
For those of you in the know....... when I go looking for chassis What do I need to know to make sure it is certified to NHRA standards??? The only problem I for see is having to cars being put together at the same time and the BADMAV will have priority.
HELL YA!!!! Go for it Lance. That would be cool. Would that be one turbo for each bank, or a dual stage set up? One for quick spool up, feeding the next one for boost?
Find a chassis shop who has knocked out a few NHRA cert chassis, and know the game. That way all of your bases are covered, not just tubing wall thickness.... Based up on my experience, my advice would be "try to make sure your car is the slowest in the shop, so it will be the fastest when it gets out..." I just made that up...hmmmm:confused:
I think I understand. In other words they don't want the competition. I am giving myself 5 years to do this. Not gonna be cheap. I am eying one of those Man o war blocks...... I have used turbonetics turbos befors so...... I will have a local fabricator Butch from Bodley Racing here in Cincinnati do the chassis and fab up the intake for me. He's loving the idea. He just did a Nova chassis car that is supposed to run in the 8's. I am gonna have to start running in faster cars (who will let me use thiers) So I can get Certified to handle this monster. I'm serious about this. It's gonna happen. My wife has 2 years left of school and after that she should have a good enough job to let me direct my money else where.......:16suspect I am guessing in the 50k to 60k My brothers and my old man are in on it too......... I proposed the idea to my old man and he said why not just build a full chassis car I will help. So instead of hacking together a wanna be.......Then my brothers all said they would pitch in.......Freakin Awesome.
Sounds awesome. I told my fiancee after she gets out of pharmacy school and has had a job for a year or 2 that im taking a year off. haha If I can support her thru all that schooling she can support me for a year OR let me build another Maverick/Comet She said either one would be fine. Gotta love it. Keep us updated on the car
well you already know my opinion on turbo Mavericks...hell, for that matter, turbo anything. go for it!
I have a good car to use as a chassis...almost completely new front end, good frame, and other things...I have pics but I think I have too much money invested to let it go for cheap. I'll post pics seperately. Jeff ps...I found a 68 stang GT in great great condition that I'm gonna buy soon.
I'm looking at a Man o-War setup too... Check out the short blocks...heck of a deal! My guess is that its an intro, so I'm trying to jump on it asap...
