I checked the archives and now I'm more confused then ever. It appears that most times it is a problem with bulbs, a ground or a faulty socket. I have checked those things but no change. I thought I'd post a quick note to see if anyone had other ideas. OK, when all lights are off I have brake lights, right turn signal (front and back), left turn signal back only. Turn on running lights and headlights and all light up. When I apply the brake lights the left rear goes out (filament doesn't light up) and when I release the pedal running light returns. Also, with lights on and left turn signal applied, the left front does not blink but it is on. The left rear blinks very slowly! I'm still thinking left front socket?

    future reference

Well, the problem with the left front and left back were unrelated! The rear was a ground problem. For future reference, there is a small ground wire that bolts near the bottom of the trunk latch bracket. I had that connected and I still found a poor ground. I simply added a ground wire from the same point directly to the back of the left and right tail light lenses. If you run the wires through the stock plastic wire loom it looks factory and your lights will be much brighter and work better. The front is due to lack of continuity of the flasher circuit. Now I have to chase down the broken wire. Hope this helps someone else.

I have found on the 67-72 F100's which I am more familiar with than Mavericks, that exterior light problems are mostly caused by either bad grounds or sockets. Mostly bad grounds.
Horn troubles are mostly caused by broken ground straps between steering columns and rag joints.
I bet both transfer right over to Mavericks.
I looked at the rag joint on my 72 Maverick and it is the same as the one on my 71 F100.
