Has anyone ever purchased new crimp on female pins, for the ends of the wires on the turn signal switch harness, that lock into the multi pin plastic plug? Looking for a source for new pins, female and male. I unlocked one of the female pin for the photo. It's hard to get focused that close up but I did my best.
Now that has to be one of the toughest questions that has came up. I wonder if you might find something at Radio Shack. My son works in the parts department at the Ford dealership and says he has bins of different ones so you might try some dealers.
Any electronics place will have them, they come in different sizes, and they use a specific crimper, I restored Arcade machines for a hobby, I have a bin of them somewhere...
I'm using a 69 Mustang column in my Maverick and the turn signal switch that came with it has damage to the plug end of the harness. The wires in the harness can be cut evenly and a new plug purchased but no crimp on pins come with it.
Someone had told me to check at a Graingers so I stopped off there today. The 2 countermen just looked at each other and came up with nothing. I'll keep Radio Shack in mind the next time I'm roaming around :Handshake
I'm not sure if I have any kind of an actual electronics store local to me other than a Radio Shack. I'll have to search around.
Wouldnt be lucky enough to be these would it http://www.ebay.com/itm/PIN-TERMINA...576?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae1af2540
Its crap now Dave. A damn shame isnt it. The Source by (circuit city) bought it and now its owned by Bell Canada. Its going to be a cellular/bell store. The electronics and toys are all being phased out.
Those are basically the same that MSD uses for there distributors and such..... We have an assortment of them along with 1 to 12 pin connectors that use them, there are also a couple different male and female pins for retaining different gauge wire..... I can find out the supplier we get them form on Monday if you would like.....
I'll tell you what, Mike - they sure look right to me I blew up the Ebay photo so I could see it and compared it with my pin - I can't find any differences in the two - I still need to find a plastic case, that I have, from when I worked for Altec wiring bucket trucks to see if I have a few stray pins left over from those days but if not, I may take a chance and order these from Ebay - Thanks :Handshake Thanks Frank - let me know if you locate that supplier - I might be better off than the Ebay pins
