I took off my trunk lid to de-rust and prime it, but now that I'm going to put it back on I'm not sure how it's suppossed to go back on. The little........brackets?.....or whatever you call them that go in between the the trunk lid and the trunk mounts.....how do they go back in? I didn't know they were there in the first place so I didn't notice how they were when I removed it. A nice picture of this on someone else's car would be helpful.

You put the trunk lid on the same way you toke it off. The brakets on in the hole on the back end of the trunk and you line up the holes for the bolt. I have done this on my 75 mav. It does help if you have 2 people thu. One to hold the trunk the other to bole it on.

Good luck and have a beer or two or three.

Really its a piece of cake.

The nut brackets slide into the channel on the end of the trunk mounts. There is a tab on the end to keep them from dropping in too far. Then slide the trunk over the mounts.

Yup .. the brackets can only go in one way. I jammed a cardboard poster tube in the trunk to hold the non-spring side mount up level with the spring loaded side and just slid my trunk lid on and bolted in up. Will take some trial and error to perfect the alignment ...
