Hey guys...still no progress due to tranny bellhousing. I need to know what all transmissions will fit a 200ci I6 from the late 70s? I may have a 4speed manual lined up but I was wondering if there are any kits or anything that will make a ford AOD tranny fit onto a 200. Or any other combinations will do too. Please let me know; this is very very important to me.

Jeff, the 4 speed won't be a picnic to install. (unless you can find EVERY piece of original manual tranny linkage) You are also gonna have to "stretch" the tranny tunnel (beat the #%^@ out of it with a hammer so that the tranny will fit in there and line up right. Prolly is a bellhousing to mate a 4spd with a 200, but I can't help you there. I would have sworn that the one I sent would have worked for you!! :( Came out of my 200/C-4 combo.:hmmm: Anyway, call dad and see if he can get in touch with a guy we know in Burrs Ferry. He'll have one if anybody will. Have dad give you the number for Roshong's Junkyard where I got all of my stuff from. He or his brother next door stand a good chance of hooking you up. Post an ad in the Parts wanted forum on here too. Can't hurt.........Anyway, GOOD LUCK!! Call me tomorrow, I may have some other options by then.... Take care man, Preston

Get the 3 speed manual bellhousing and accessories and work from there if you want to run a 4 speed, or T5, Tremec, etc... 3 speed bellhousing bolts to most manuals without modifications, bolts to nearly everything with some mods.

I think there is an adaptor plate for the AOD, but I wouldn't recommend it. After some serious tuning and headers, my car is still slower with the AOD than it was with a C4, it would have to pull down a 200 pretty bad.
