[IMG]Thanks to Ford's poor financial health, there has been all kinds of speculation about alliances it could make with other carmakers. Toyota has been at the top of that list ever since CEO Alan Mulally paid the automaker a visit in Japan shortly after starting work in Dearborn. Although there have been recent indications from Toyota that it was open to technical cooperation with other companies, anything more substantial seems to be off the table for now. Toyota Motor Corp. President Katsuaki Watanabe, speaking in Geneva today, stated that the Japanese manufacturer has no intention of striking up any joint ventures or alliances with Ford, and that no significant discussion of joint development efforts has even occurred yet.
