Im getting ready to Install my toploader 4speed. I would like any hints, tricks, advice so this can go as smoothly as possible.
The trans is going in 74 Maverick 3 speed on the floor, I have researched a little at various Mav sites and all say no mods needed!
    True or?????:D

True. The only thing I can remember having to do was putting a small notch in the tunnel where the particular shifter handle I used hit. The boot covered it. My Mav is a '70 and had column shift. I understand that my tunnel is smaller than your's. So with a different handle and being a '74 you shouldn't have any problems.

    I

did see your post and pic where you cut that out, thanks much for your reply.
I just got the Mav runnin again after months of being parked in the back yard.
I put some Trick flow aluminum heads, new cam, roller rockers, lifters, push rods, edlebrock carb & manifold on her.
Runs preety good still working out the bugs.
Was gonna put headers on and that is where I ran into most of my problems, modify the zbar:mad: yuk. So then I put the stock manifolds back on (port matched to the heads). Now after I install the trans I going to have some 2 1/2 exhaust made up with h pipe.
    Nuff said thanks again!
Gonna be changin the rear pig also later!
