tie rod torque specs?

    Anyone know the correct torque specification for '71/'72 Mav/Com tie rod ends? My Chilton's manual conveniently doesn't say...

    Missing my old '70 Maverick
    I do not have any specific numbers for your application, however, here's a link to a "rule of thumb" SAE Torque Recommendations according to size and grade of bolt (probably grade 5 for the bolts you're talking about).

    Like Frank said, "tight... tight" should do it. ;)

    I don't think there is any specific torque for them. I torqued mine to 125 ft. lbs. because it "felt" right.

    Never seen any. Probably because of the cotter pin its not really that critical. Its not going to back out.
