I have a 1976 Maverick Stallion, and 85 More Mavericks and Comets in Inventory.
Well You Know its Getting Time to Pass the Torch to the Younger Ones, My Youngest Son needed a car for a Graduation Project, Testing his Prep and Painting Ability Along with Fabracation Skills. So off to Inventory and Storage we went, We Passed Rite By all the Clean Easy Bodies and Kept Heading Back to the Training the New Apprentices on Type of Copndition,, These are Cars we Plan to Save but have Rust issues, and Just not at all put together correctly. I know what Your Thinking,, and Yes I could have made it easier on him,, But NO,, I push them Both, and Expect the Best. So we Towed the Car back to the shop, The Deal is,, Its Home Work, After the Shop Closes you can Work on the Car,, 3 Hours Every Night and You can on Weekends, Just Cant have it in the Way of Customers Cars and Projects.

This 1974 Maverick Had a 289 Hypo 4 Barrel, New Slott Wheels and Tires, It Ran and we Figured the Tires and Rims along with Drivetrain was Pretty Much the Value. A Ford Pick-up Differential was in the Car and the Rear Springs I have no Clue from Where they Came, They were Bowed and Had No Travel,, Yes Bent to Fit, Lmao, Drive shaft was cut, and slid inside other half and welded, Wirering looked like a few Birds were making a Nest under the dash and Engine Bay. This Car was not Fit to drive onto a Trailer. I Laughed,, She is all Yours,, and I am sure after sitting and Stairing at the mess a few hours, Motivation came in.

I kept my Nose out of the Project, I did say Factory Body Color, the Stripes and Artwork is all You, I do have to say the Interior was Very Nice Matching Bucket Seats with Rear, Looked Quality anyways. So My son made a List of all the parts he needed and Spent Time at Fab, It was his Responsability to Make the Parts, so a Few weeks he had a Pile of new Parts and then Began the Cutting and Replacing of Sheet Metal, I asked for a List of parts and Photos of before durring and After each part was done. The Car Required a 12 Part Floor Pan Kit, Left Front Apron Right Batery apron Repair patch Both 3 part Lower Quarter Kits, Behind the Door Quarter Patches Wheel Arch kits, Hood Lip kit, Lower Radiator suport Repair, Outer Frame Covers, Trunk Floor. A few years ago, a car like this would have been Chopped, But Now that we have almost 450 Year specific and Direct fit Parts Available, Now cars like this are able to be Saved.

My Son brought a Drawing to me and asked what I thought, It was His Rendishion of the Grim Reaper, and had a second Idea of Creating a Series of 10 of these cars, Using up some of the Cars at the Back of Storage, I was Fine with That, So this Car got Branded #1 of 10 Scheduled. Covid Created a Huge Issue, Parts Problems, Buisinesses Closed Venders Closed just Stalled Everything, So Our Work was Way behind. The Only thing that saved this and gave us the Ability to keep going was we had Gotten a Supply of Parts before Covid Shut the World Down.

I am Going to Post a few Photos of this Car, Yes I am Extremely Proud of Anthony and My Eldest Joe For doing the Mechanical on the Project. Not Only Did Anthony Pass Paint Graphics and Fabrication, The Reaper Won Geneva on the Lake Car Show, and was Parked Next to a Car I purchased From Craig Selvey back in 2015, So 2 Cars Got out and About, My Friend Phil,s Son Purchased the Reaper and Took Her to Geneva on the Lake, My Sons Showed up in the 72 Maverick 2 Tone.
