Hello everyone, I am new in several ways: New to the whole forum thing and new to the comet community. Here's my story and some questions.

I just bought a 1974 Mercury Comet for my son and I to make suitable for a 16 year old boy. 250 6 cyc blue 2 door.

    Questions:
Where do I find parts? Can I purchase a hood with the vent? and can I go from the big bumper to the smaller ones (front and back)

Please forgive my stupidity when answering my questions please :)

I am hosting a Maverick Comet Club International (MCCI) Mini-Meet next Saturday here in Indiana. Check it out at: www.maverickcometclub.org under Calendar of Events. It would be a great place to come and get your questions answered in person.

Howdy and :Welcome: Most of the body and interior parts will come from other cars. There is little to none after market support for these cars. Bumper swap has been done many time over. Just do a search on this forum.

welcome to the board. I am just 30 minutes south of you in L-ville and would be more than glad to help if you need it.
The hood with vent. Comet scoop??? Depending on how much money you want to spend either can be bought on here or off ebay. If your hood is good, then you really just need the scoop. The Comet GT scoop is a bolt on piece.
Bumper conversation is easy as well, just need to buy the bumpers/brackets etc. Something to think about on this is bumpers are not cheap (especially the front) and most of the time they will need rechroming/straightening. If you buy one ready to put on, it will cost you. One option is to just paint the bumpers body color.
Anyways, just down the road and would be glad to help!
