Except some tweaks like installing the gauges and Mustang Center Console the Maverick is just about done! Just went up and took some pictures for the insurance company .... http://homepage.mac.com/dmhines/PhotoAlbum62.html
Congratulations!!!! That really looks good!!!! I am jealous!!!!! How long did it take for you to do the complete restoration? You've done a great job. Being as how you don't have anything else to do but to drive and enjoy that wonderful looking Grabber, I'll be more than glad to let you help with one of my Maverick projetcs.
Dan, it's amazing how fast, and how well you got that car together, considering the other Grabber you had, you abandoned for this one. Great job!!!
I would say the Restoration offically began the first week of March when I took a week off of work to pull the engine and begin dismantling the car .... Going with Hagerty insurance ... $297 per year for $15,000 coverage. Having the prior Grabber that Hawko now has helped out alot since I already had accumulated the majority of the parts I needed. Instead of waiting on eBay auctions, trying to find parts in junk yards, swap meets, board members, etc ... All I had to do was pull them out of my spare room or the garage. I must say collecting everything you need before beginning the project is the way to go. That way you don't lose your momentum ... http://www.hagerty.com
WOW! That's awesome! Looks like you just bought it, but better than original. Now just get a 70s suit and haircut, take a black and white pic of you next to it, and fool anybody into thinking it is the pic when you bought it back in the 70s. It still looks the same then as it does now - talk about taking good care of your car... Looks great! -Corbin
Wow!!! And it didn't take 5 years to complete. I'm impressed. Can't wait to see it in person someday. Now I can't wait to get my 70 Grabber done.
Do you mean March of this year?? You built that car in only 5 months??!! Man you are the $#!t !!! It's so perfect the way you did it. Making the necessary upgrades while keeping the "factory original" appearance. If I wore a hat, I'd take it off to you...
