Neil Cheshire and I are leaving Austin about 6:30 this morning for Waco. We will be there Rain or Shine!! (Unfortunatedly the forcast calls for rain. We're almost 20 inches of rain behind for the year, and it decides to rain this weekend)!

Neil offered to drive one of my cars, so we will have two of mine at the meet.

According to those who responded, we'll have at least 5 cars and 8 or more people.

    See y'all in Waco!!

I had a great time today and met some really nice people! Thanks to everyone who made it out to the mini-meet that might have otherwise been rained out. (It didn't rain until well after got back to Austin and settled in).

Just for the record we had 5 Mavericks and 1 Comet and ten people attend. The Heart of Texas Mustang Club saw us arrive in numbers and assigned us a class and wrote us onto the ballot after all. I thought that was really great!

Here are a few pictures I took.

Yeah, I thought that was GREAT of them to ad-lib a class for us and get it set up with trophies and everything. They are a great group of people. I think we owe them, and should repay with a larger attendance next year...

DAB, you said you had the trophy badges worked out with the group? I forgot to touch base with them to verify. Let me know, or I will have my own made locally, if i have to.

Again, thanks to Rick Book and Fan2488 for NOT showing up...if they had, I would have never had a chance to win a trophy :D

It was really nice to meet some new people, meet some people I have talked to on the forum, and put some faces to the cars and Forum nicknames (y)

My brother-in-law (my wife's brother) asked the same thing...did she (my wife) have to don skimpy swimwear while leaning over my hood/fenders to deserve such honors...

Nope. We just donned multiple colors, and popped open the hood and let everyone see what is under there. We also opened up the exhaust dumps, and hot-rodded around the parking lot...I think that may have helped a bit

Anyone notice how they stuck all the mavericks WAY out at the end of the parking lot...?

We were initially offended, but noticed that we got a good healthy helping of the crowd, so we kept our mouths shut, and took it.

The Mustang club invited us back for next year, so we should take that as a complment :bananaman We didn't embarrass those Mustang owners too much

Whatever is going on in Seguin...give us a good warning so those of us with long drives can plan for it. I will do everything in my power to attend any Maverick function within a day's drive. we meet the BEST people at these meets, and learn so much about our cars. Not to mention, getting a chance to see and feel some of the nicest cars around (y)
