Just wanted to remind everyone about the meet iin Waco a week from Saturday (Sept. 23rd): Info on Maverick Meet

Let's plan on getting there by 8:30 so we can all park together.

Looks like we've got three other cars that aren't on the message board coming, hopefully. Two Mavericks (spouses), and a Stallion from the Dallas area! (y)

How about a head count? Who is still planning on making it to the meet?

I'll be there but can't bring my car. I have to be at a wedding on Sun morning in Austin... My family has a habbit of anouncing a wedding with a two week notice:mad: . But I never hear of the divorce till way later and usually from someone else:16suspect

Count me and the wife, even if it DOES rain.

We have a divorce in our family soon, also...so let's not go there. It is NOT me and the sweet red-headed wife.

Any suggestions for a hotel room for Friday night?

Doesn't have to be IN waco, we are coming in from Houston.

I'm sure I have seen some hotels on I35 there. I almost always stop at the Burger King or Whataburger right off the highway in Waco. The BK is on University and I35 on the W side and there should be a hotel next door. From there you should be able to travel west to 84 and turn left and go six blocks to the meet, I believe. I will be at BK at 7ish unless someone knows a better place. Somebody correct me if my directions are wrong...:drive:

I just want to find a "decent" hotel...somewhere where the rats and roaches are small, and the car will still be on the trailer, and attached to my truck the next morning. Preferably without the windshield busted, etc.

My wife works with a Baylor Graduate, and will ask her which areas in town are nice to stay in.

Weather forecast has changed from 60% rain to "scattered T-storms, 30%. MUCH better. We just got a nice cool front, so I bet another comes through Saturday or so and we have nice weather.

Sorry guys. Not going to make it this year. I had something come up which requires that my time/money be diverted from this show.

    Maybe next time. :(

Heads up...there are few, if any, hotel rooms available. Baylor is having some kind of "meet the teacher" or student orientation, and everybody is booked. Then I tried College Station, and they have a 2-night minimum and few spaces left (football weekend).

Ended up finding a place in Temple, about 30 mins south of Waco. So we will still be there.

Anyone need any of the parts I have listed in my "for sale" section of my website? I can bring them with me and cut out the shipping.

Seriously guys, I need to move some of this crap out of my attic. I will get rid of it for way cheaper than it is worth...I would just haul it to a junk yard, but I know someone somewhere needs this stuff, and I hate to destroy good/rare maverick parts. Beside, if I ever get into a fender bender (or passenger door bender), I have kept these repairable parts as backup in the attic...

This is my first car show...should I just load it all up, park the truck nearby, and let people look and buy, or is that allowed? Kinda like at a swap meet...

I think I would bring the stuff...If I were bringing my car I would also display my extras.(but not right next to the car, maybe in the bed of my truck)

Rick Book talked about it, then got into a company picnic. And Fan2488 is ED Davis, not Ralph.

Did we get enough early enough to get our own "class"?

No, I didn't have enough responses by 8/31 See post #36 , so the guys at the Mustang club and I decided it didn't warrant our own class. Sorry!

I corrected Ed's name on the list. Thanks, Scott (His first name is actually Ralph).

I stand corrected (actually, I am sitting...). I guess I can't go wrong if I just call him '24 from now on :D
