Just finished the front end rebuild so I can get the car to paint. After it was back on the wheels I saw something in the box that made my heart sink! The grease fittings for the A arms that I DID NOT INSTALL! Is it too late? The A arms are tapped on both ends and my car has the holes that were cut a long time ago to put in grease fittings. Can I just thread these straight through those holes? Do i have enough room to put in the 90* fittings? I do NOT want to remove all this again! Here is a before and after..

I would use a hole saw on the inside (shock towers)....about a 1" hole and cover with a body plug

Should not have any movement at that point of the arm, yes? It is the pivot point. The ones supplied will go in, they just will stick out of the hole a bit..

Yes, you should be able to screw the fitting right in if you already have the holes in the shock towers. Be sure to give a shot or two with a grease gun and as long as you give them a shot about every 4-5K miles, you will not likely ever have to change them again. (y) Good looking job, by the way.

I put the grease fitting kit on without removing anything or drilling holes. Maybe I have a different kit than yours. On mine, the 90 degree piece screwed in by itself, tightened so the threaded hole was pointing outward, followed by the actual grease fitting.

And yes, it really looks good! Nice job!

i have done them the old tweak the tower way by prying out with a crow bar and putting in a 90, and ive done the hole for a straight one as well. both can be done in the car

Scott; you can get the 90degree kit from any Mustang supply house, and put them in with the tool they give you for that. I put mine in in about a half an hour, with no cuts in the shock towers. The kit is about $17, and it makes life a lot easier with these cars.

Earl, that sounds like the way to go. Is that $17.00 for both sides? All 4 fittings? Sounds like a god deal to me.. Thanks all.. I can exhale now and return the coil spring compressor!

Car goes in this weekend. I can't get the part for 3 days. Ok to drive on the a arms before the grease is in there? It is about a 9 miles drive..

I don't think 9 miles is going to hurt it but I would definitely do it asap.
