I have a 1970 maverick and my break light went out the other day and when I tried to replace it the bulb wont fit into the housing any more. I think the two springed connector points are stuck in the down position so the bulb is loose in the housing. Is there and eazy way to fix this or do I have to replace the whole housing?

Try some light penetrating oil in the socket, like PB Blaster. Let it soak awhile and then try working the spring-loaded contact to free it up. If there is any visible corrosion, try to clean it ourwith a small pick.
