I was wondering if I have this correct. I have cylinder 1 at T.D.C. & (0) at the timing mark, the rotor is set on 1 in the cap. It's been a while so I just want to make sure I did this right, thanks for any replies.
The piston will be at the top of the cylinder, but you may not be on the compression stroke. Make sure you're on compression before setting the distributor in or it may not start.
If you have the balancer on with a timing pointer, align it to 8 - 10 btdc, or whatever you set your timing to. Then insert the distributor pointing at #1 cylinder. Once you start it you can use a timing light to get it closer.
