T-45 Transmission

    I have been wanting to put a 5 speed in my 74 Comet. I have been given a T-45 5 speed tranny. Will this work. I have a 74 -302 Comet. With a c-4 now.

    1966 Mustang, 1972, 73, 73 and 73 Mavericks
    The T-45 was made to fit the modular engines - I think the bellhousing pattern is different and won't fit. You may be able to find an adapter to fit the transmission to the block but I would question if the transmission could take the torque of the 302.

    They were in the 1996 to 1999 Mustang GT's with the 4.6 and most everyone thinks they are junk. I had traded into one and couldnt find an adapter plate and the more I hunted and read up on them the more I found most dont like them. Sold it to a guy for his 4.6 that had a bad T45

    bell housing bigger than 302 not a good trans ford quit using them
