Switching Rearends

    Has anyone ever tried to put a mid 80's mustang rearend in a 1970 Maverick? If so,what's involed. Any help is appreciated.

    not sure if its been done but its doable. you will need to cut off the controle arm mounts. then you need to weld on leafspring pearches. now when you weld on the pearches it will warp the tubes so you will need to get it streightened after you weld. also the 80s mustangs were 4 lugs unless you get a svo mustang diff then it was 5 lug but only a 7.5 not a 8.8. you can convert an 8.8 to 5 lug with two passenger side axles from a ranger or new conversion axles. by the time you get the 8.8 to work you could have goten a 9" for it.
