What is the fastest car you have had with ported/larger valve stock casting 351 windsor heads.
    Thanks Steve

Alright, it does not have to be you.
It can be anyone that you know.
    Thanks Steve

Cityboy I don't understand exactly what you are asking.
My first set of heads that I ported was 1969 windsor heads and I put 350 chevy valves in them and it made a BIG improvement, but that was in 1978 and now you can buy aftermarket heads for about the same money a good valve job, valves and port job would cost you.
If you can do the job yourself then the 69 4V heads are a good way to go and I think you can put the 2.02 intake valves in them.

    Good luck

2.02s are too big for Ford Windsor heads & won't fit. I think 1.94s are max and 1.90s are more typical. 1.94s almost touch the exhaust valves...

My '71 has just run a best of 12.63 at 111mph with a mild '69 351 block and a set of '70 351w heads sprorting 194 intakes and 160 exhaust as well as some home porting. They are for sale, so if you would like more info, just let me know. Nobody expects a stock headed maverick to be quick...so they can add to the sleeper image

    Hey grabber71-

    Ever get down to Bellingham?
I'd love to meet up with someone else from the board.
Maybe go grab a burger and a soda.

Cool...I'm thinking about heading down that way sometime this summer. Are there any car shows or any other activities such as Cruises or Races around your direction in late Aug or Sept. It would really be cool to meet up with a few other Mavericks on the way...there are nothing much here in the way of Mavs...not that I've every seen anyway... most seem to be back east by what I can tell.

    Thanks Guys,
I already have a set that has had quite a bit of port work to them.
They have 1.94/1.6 valves in them, and screw in studs w/ .550 lift springs.
I also want to use a 125 or 150 shot on nitrous oxide on the 351.

What do you guys think of a 393?
    Thanks Steve

Has anyone ever known of a car getting into the 11 second range w/ ported windsor heads?
These heads are ported clear to the pushrod valley's and have bronze wall sleeves inserted.
I would like to have a 351 with a mechanical lift cam, and a 125 shot of nitrous to try to get into the 11 second range, what do you guys think?
I will get some lighter heads down the road.

yes RadMav, you're 100% correct. They will physically fit in the heads just fine, but supposedly they tend to be shrouded by the chamber quite a bit. I think 2.05's will actually fit as well...but shrouding again is a problem.

we did a bit of work on them aside from just tossing in the larger valves so that they would work properly. the 2.05s may fit but I wouldnt reccommend anything larger than the 2.02(thats provided the neccesarry work is performed)
