I'm looking for a steel or iron 4 bbl flange, spacer or adapter. I can't seem to find one anywhere. Anybody know where I can get one? This is for a Blow-through turbo 200 I6 I'm attempting to mount a Holley 4160 on. I can fab up something if I have to (trace a gasket onto some plate) but I was curious if such a thing existed. -Nick
the problem with a steal or iron carb spacer is the heat storage capasity of the metal. they will transfer heat into the carb and potentialy boil the fuel in the bowl.
What I'm planning to do is cut away a portion of the log manifold and weld the flange to it (hence the need for something ferrous) then use some flat stock to buildup a plenum underneath the flange. I figure this would be a better performing way to get a 4 bbl on the motor than choking it down with a 4v->1v adapter .
You can always cut up a factory 4 bbl intake to get what you want. The only steel spacers I recall were used on the heavy truck intakes.
It is for a 200 right? I am a woodworker and have made several 4v insulating spacers out of several different materials over the last couple of years and had good luck with most of them. Of course that doesn't help you but it might give you another material to think about. clint
