i need to find a passenger side sport mirror but the ones i've seen on ebay have a distance between mounting holes of 4 1/2 inches. my mirrors are 7 inches between holes. what gives? are there 2 different sport mirrors for the mav or do i need to look for a specific year. i guess the other option is to buy a new set of 2, rather than looking for just one. :confused:
Mirrors I think the auction you are refering to is mine ... I have 3 mav's one is my parts car ... Thats where the mirrors came from ...its a 1977 ... I also have a 1976 that my son and i are working on, it has the exact same mirrors with the 4 1/2 " holes ... My 1973 however is different the screw holes on it are 6 7/8" ... There are two types of mirrors i guess, One ( The older type ) with the wider holes and the newer type ( not as pointy mounting base )
i bid on some others one other time and then found out they weren't what i needed. i was high bid right up to the end. luckily someone bid higher right at the last minute. guess i helped the seller out by getting the bid higher. thanks for the info.
