ok guys.. i know most of you racers run aftermarket cyl heads with peanut pulgs. so i'm wondering what pulgs you guys use and why? and what i mean by why is it becuase its short? is it a cold plug? or is it becuase its you have nitrous or are supercharged let me know. also are you lasy and just keep the same pulgs on the track and on the street or do you use a differant pulg on the street then change them track.

as for regular size plugs (standard old school pulg) what are you guys using? the only two i see now are 42 motorcrafts and 45 autolights and the colder pulgs were discontinued which were 32 motorcrafts and 44 autolights. any other options on colder pulgs you guys are using?

just looking for some options on spark pulgs

    thanks

I used ASGF32C Motorcrafts for ages. Changed to Autolite 3933 race plugs and picked up about a half tenth. Also the Autolite 3924's were used at one time or another.

Honestly, I didn't find many differences in any of them, other than the short ground straps on the AL race plugs, which seem to work good on mine.

Bottom line, experimentation is what leads to success. What my engine likes may or may not work in yours.

    What's a peanut plug?

I use NGK V-fires, application for a 1985 Mustang 5.0L 5 speed. They seem to be more resistant to fouling than my old Motorcrafts.

i run autolite AR3910's. i have the edelbrock performer heads. they reccommended a plug but when i went to bakersfield i couldn't get any color. they were burning real lean. two guys on our team were chuck hawk from chuck hawks performance and donny toia who owns dons hot rod shop in tucson. there both ford guys. they suggested the other plugs were ok for the street but not for the track. car is strictly track i tried them and they work great. i had checkers order them for me. they are about $4 a plug.:)

I run the AL 3933's also, set my gap at .035 with a wire gauge. They burn rich at idle but at WOT under load they burn great, doesn't matter much if I'm running 93 premium or 110 race fuel.

    gee forgot about this thread

Peanut Pulg = late model pulg. at least that what i call it that or seen some people call it that.

but i am asking about the early model pulgs.. the only thing i could find was AR33 in an autolite which is supposed to be colder then a 45 but no one could tell me if the AR33 is close to the old 44 they use to make. :hmmm:

the reason is i'm about to either crank the boost up with a new pulley and/or turn back down the boost retard.

i just wanna make sure on the pulgs if you know what i mean.

    I believe in Autolite.
I run them in my 205's cause thats what AFR recommended (#3922).
But I ran the big plugs in my W heads and the Autolite was better than the Motorcrafts by about a .10
