Ok, I scrounged together some money to get the 250 engine head completely worked over and its all done and ready to gone on my 72 four door with the inline 200. I want to clean out and simplify everything under the hood and make it look good. There is a lot I don't know about the mechanics, especially the emissions crap, what the he** do I do about all these damn vacuum lines. The previous owner told me he had them disconnected but didn't know what went where when he reconnected them. I can't seem get the thing to Idle or run quite right, I don't know if these are all connected right and I have to rip all this out for the head swap. So I want to know how to set this up right, it currently has a dual diaphragm distributor, would single be better? If I keep the dual diaphragm distributor how much of this vacuum line crap can go and how is it suppose to be set up?
like any vehicle.. I would run your pcv valve, run a vacuum line to you distributer, and run a line to your heater controls and call it good...
if you have to smog check the car you need to have them properly hooked up. if you dont have to smog check it, you can eliminate most of them and hook it up as described above.
