I know you guys don't like having 1000 threads about headers floating around....but I'm really not sure what im doing here lol.
Everyone seems to like the the 12100FLT headers, but they have oval ports, and mine are rectangle...
I have a '73 302, and im really just looking for the cheapest thing that will fit. I just can't get all this information straightened out...
Thanks for any advice you can give me =)

Dude. If you got a question about headers you might want to be a little more informative with the title. I almost skiped this thread cause I didn't think "sorry" had anything to do with me lol.
I have Black Jacks. They have rectangular ports and affordable. A little thin but couldn't afford the Hookers back when I got them. I'm not familure with the #s you posted.

Not saying it hasn't been done, but I have never heard of those being used on our cars.

Furthermore, the Holley/Flowtech website does not state that those headers will fit our cars.

I though the Boss 302 and 351C was the only factory oval port.

Holley says 71-73 Comet. Why those specific years, no clue.

Your best bet are a set of Summit/Jegs headers, you can get them for around 120 bucks. Even cheaper if used, someone here might even have a set to sell. :yup:

I found the 120 dollar set on jegs...but, it doesn't say anything about the shape of the ports....also, i have a floor shifter...is that going to make a difference?
    thanks!!

my car came with headers with oval ports. they always leaked. i had tryed changing the gaskets and they still leaked. i didnt realize that they were oval ports till i took them off when i pulled that motor. oval ports dont work with rectangle port heads. i love my ceramic coated hookers. they were not cheap but worth every penny.

My old Blackjacks that I bought in '87 had oval ports, never caused me any problems. I ran em on 289, 302, 351W, GT40P, and Ebrock RPM heads.
