    I tried, the rear seat was in the way.. Thought it was a corvair! At least I had some help!

    scotty, if that's your wife she looks like she has serious doubts about this project. i usually make my wife lay under the car to guide the engine in. :)

    I guess I just don't get the whole 'put it in all at once' process.
    Maybe it's because most everything I have ever worked on I didn't
    want to scratch. I have helped put motor/tranny combos in before
    all at once. It is more of a PIA to me than engine from the top and
    tranny from the bottom. I guess it's just a preference thing.
    Do people have that much trouble getting a tranny in that they would
    risk beating and banging the firewall, shock towers and radiator support?

    Just me I guess?

    That looks good Scotty. What kind of heads do you have on there?

    Edelbrock RPMs. I rebuilt the tranny at the same time. I really do not like the whole lining up of the converter, bellhousing etc.. I did not scratch the firewall or the bellhousing paint doing it this way. It does take two though. I could do just the engine solo..Say a friend take out the windsheild of his mustang once though doing it this way!

    Great Scott! :eek: (have you heard that one before?)

    Very nice. I too have my engine bay setup to remove the motor and tranny together ('modified the radiator support to be removable. That, combined with the removal of the grill - it should be a snap).

    littleredtoy I agree with you, its much easier to put the engine in then go under and put the trans in, especially if its an automatic! as well as the scratches and not wanting to bend and sheet metal, nice looking engine though.

    Scotty, Mine is far from perfect. I just see so many potential hazards
    from doing it that way. Those RPM's are nice. I don't have them but a
    friend does with about the same pistons and cam as I have and there
    is quite a difference. Post more pics on the progress when it's in there.

    I put the engine and trans back in together in the '74. You just gotta go slow and have someone else down below guideing the trans in.

    Next time I'll pull them seperately and put them back in together. Pulling them out together was a major PITA.

    Seth, it is in there. Took 54 minutes from start to finish. Although, I still need to change these "bolts"

    I see that your thermostat spring is facing out of the intake. Is that normal on those engines?

    Good eye! The thermostat is installed backwards.

    Gee, I wonder what that little plate laying on top of the master cylinder is for? :huh: :evilsmile
