    1. The alum. slots with the black stripe. Were they grabber only? and for what years?

    2. The grabbers with the flat hoods. What would the vin.# look like if it is a factory 302?

P.S. I think I'll be needing some center caps if the answer to question # 1 is that a flat hood grabber came with the black stripe alum. slots.

    Thanks John

The slots weren't exclusively Grabber. You could order them and they also came optional on the Stallions.

I'm not sure about question #2, but the 76' Stallions came with the alum. slots and center caps as an option.

All 302 vin numbers have a "F" for the 5th digit reguardless of Grabber/non Grabber.

Alum wheels were an option on any Maverick.

    Slots...

...appeared in '73 on both Mavericks & Comets.
I have never seen any on anything built after
    '76.

Ya know, it bums me out that the aftermarket doesn't make those slotted aluminum mags anymore. There I go whining again...

Aren't they still being reproduced for the Mustang crowd? I seem to remember seeing them on 73' Mach 1's.

Many years ago there was a company that made a small run of Mustang Reproduction slots ... However, as discussed in previous threads ... The Mustangs slots will not fit on a Maverick ...

Also .. Aluminum slots were ONLY availabe during the years of Flat Grabber hoods ...

I have a NOS SET of Center caps in the boxes .... $325 plus shipping & insurance ....
