i needed to vent. i just spent the last 5 hours trying to get the transfercase out of a saturn vue for my cousin. it has had 3 transmissions in it and now the transfercase blew up also. the car only has like 85000 miles on it. stupid gm desingned it so the transfer slides over a shaft that connects to the passanger side cv axle. but they don't like to slide off when they are filled with chunks of gears and bearings. the worst part is the transfer blew up the day after they got it back from the gm dealership. they took it back to them and they were told they needed to spend another 2300 bucks for a new tranfer. thats why he called me they don't have the extra cash right now because of just putting in a transmission. i argued with the service departement for around 20 minutes trying to get a strait answer why their tech didn't do a quick check on the tranfercase before he put the new trans in. i really hate these cars and have decided i will never own a new gm car.

Saturn Vue's are know for this problem. My dealers won't buy them any more to put on their car lots.

I think the electric power steering is the best! I'v had about 3 come in that the U-Joint going to the rack came loose.

Another nice thing is the bull **** Saab engine in the older ones withe no marks for the timing belt. I had to buy a $300.00 kit that only works on that engine.

well the brand new transmission that my cousin had installed in the vue is toast. the output shaft that drives the transfercase sheered and fell apart when i pulled it out. i think i'm going to be having an interesting conversation with the dealership tomorrow
