Hello everyone- My good friend Cyclone Kevin has a real heart fer history. And it 'pears that one piece of cruise history may be in danger of bein' snuffed out. Yep, if you've been around hot roddin' for a year or two, you've probably heard about the cool So Cal cruise spots back in the day. One was Bob's Big Boy in Toluca Lake, near Burbank. Another was Van Nuys Blvd on Tuesday nights. And yet another really cool spot was way on the other side of town in Downey, a place called Harvey's broiler. If you was any kind of fast driver, you 'n that sweet young thing could eat dinner at Bob's, then surface-street it to Harvey's 'fer dessert. Anyway, there's this really cool cruise occurrin' this Sunday morning Feb. 25. Yep, our brother Kevin be puttin' it on. It's 'ta develop an awareness of our rich hot rod history of cruise spots. Yep, we be startin' out at Bob's, 'n endin' up at Harvey's, all surface streets, how cool is that! Along the way we'll visit more cruise spots than you can shake a stick at and get a history lesson on each one 'ta boot! So on Sunday git 'yer lard arss outta bed there, Slick, and 'ta the early service at church, then haul that same flank out 'ta Bob's. 'Fer you chow hounds, breakfast @ Bob's @ 8 AM. Aw heck, click on the link and see the details 'fer yourself. See you there. http://www.roadsidepeek.com/roadusa...eats/socalcoffeeshop/johniesbroiler/index.htm
