Ok i got a 1975 with a straight 6 so im not really expecting a lot of hp gain but i was curious, about how much hp does all this smog crap actually take away. If it is a lot how do i go about taking it off w/o messing up this skrewy set of vacuum lines? Thx

Well if you don`t reset the timing and some times tune the carb once you pull all the "crap" off it won`t make much more if any more power .

You can pull the smog pump , all the hoses that go to it , make a block off plate for the EGR valve , cap or plug the vac. line that used to go to it , have an exhaust shop cut out the cat and weld in a strait pipe inplace of it . Thats purdy much everything there will be some vac lines to plug ect., you might gain ~ 5 hp or so (depending on how well the smog system was working) :) .
